Why Choose Dental Implants?
Dental implants are often the most effective method to replace missing teeth. They can support a single crown, multiple teeth bridges or full arch dentures. Unlike removable dentures, implants feel and function like natural teeth. They prevent bone loss, maintain facial structure, can last a lifetime, and do not affect adjacent teeth like dental bridges. With dental implants, you can eat, speak, and smile with confidence.
Why Choose Dr Rostkier for Your Dental Implants?
Our Balwyn dental team has undertaken rigorous training to gain the experience and expertise for outstanding implant results. Combining specialist periodontists and oral surgeons with state-of-the-art local labs, we have helped hundreds avoid unwelcome dentures. Our implant restorations are permanent, beautiful, and made from the highest-quality biocompatible materials.
Ready to Transform Your Smile?
At your first visit with Dr Steven Rostkier, we evaluate your teeth and gum health. If needed, we take X-rays to ensure no potential problems go undetected. Based on this, your history, and any concerns you have, we identify if you are a good candidate for dental implants. We discuss this with you in detail, listen to your questions, and give you the opportunity to consider treatment options. Book your appointment today and take the first step towards a confident, radiant smile.
Dental Implant Options
Single Tooth Replacement (Dental Implant Crown)
A dental implant crown replaces a single missing tooth. It involves placing a titanium implant in the jawbone. This implant acts as a root for the custom-made crown, giving you a natural-looking and functional replacement.
Multiple Teeth Replacement (Dental Implant Bridge)
Implant bridges are ideal for replacing multiple missing teeth. This option uses two or more implants anchored in the jawbone to support a bridge of artificial teeth. It provides a stable, durable solution for filling larger gaps.
Full Arch Restoration
Full arch implants, also known as implant-supported dentures, replace an entire upper or lower set of teeth. Typically, four to six implants are placed in the jawbone to support a full arch of artificial teeth. This offers a secure and natural-looking alternative to traditional dentures.

Frequently Asked Questions
Getting a dental implant involves several key steps. Your journey begins with an initial consultation with Dr. Steven Rostkier’s team. During this visit, you’ll discuss your dental history, overall health, and specific needs and goals for the dental implant. Dr. Rostkier will conduct a thorough examination, including your teeth, gums, and jawbone. Using advanced 3-D imaging technology, we create detailed images of your jaw and teeth to plan the precise placement of the implant. Together, we’ll review the treatment plan to ensure it aligns with your expectations.
Before the procedure, local anaesthesia will be administered to ensure you are comfortable and pain-free. If you feel anxious, sedation options may also be available. During the implant placement, the titanium implant is surgically inserted into your jawbone. This involves making a small incision in the gum to access the bone and then inserting the implant into the jaw.
After the implant is placed, a healing period of several months is necessary. During this time, the implant will fuse with the jawbone in a process called osseointegration. This forms a strong and stable foundation for the new tooth. In some cases, a temporary crown may be placed on the implant during the healing phase to maintain aesthetics and function.
Once the implant has fully integrated with the jawbone, a small connector called an abutment is attached to the implant. This abutment will hold the final crown in place. A custom-made crown is crafted to match the colour, shape, and size of your natural teeth. This crown is then attached to the abutment. Dr. Rostkier will make any necessary adjustments to ensure the crown fits perfectly and feels comfortable.
After the final crown is placed, follow-up visits may be scheduled to monitor the implant and ensure it is functioning correctly.
If you have missing teeth and good overall oral health, dental implants might be right for you. Dr. Rostkier can evaluate your situation during a consultation.
After dental implant procedure, patients may experience mild discomfort and swelling for one or two days. This is normal and can usually be managed with pain medication like Panadol or Nurofen, as advised by your dentist.
